Served as the Secretary of a Sub committee appointed by the Company Law Advisory Commission to look in to possible reforms to the existing Companies Act. Served as a Visiting Tutor at Sri Lanka Law College from July 1984 up to April 1988, and was appointed as a Visiting Lecturer and an Examiner in Commercial Law at Sri Lanka Law College in August 1994. During the tenure at the Attorney general's department actively participated in the following large projects in the Legal Advisory team. (i) Re Structuring of Sri Lanka Ports Authority to create the new container terminal operating company, the South Asia Gateway Terminals (SAGT) Limited. (ii) Second restructuring exercise of the Ports Authority to create the parallel container terminal operating company Jaye Container Terminals Limited which is a company owned by the Government and the Ports Authority. (iii) Restructuring of the National Carrier Air Lanka. (iv) Privatization of Sri Lanka Telecom Limited. (v) Privatization of Plantation Companies. (vi) Privatization of Insurance sector Institutions.
